Alberta Election 2015

This past month, there's been another election launched in my native province of Alberta. This time around, all leaders are new, although the Progressive Conservative and Wildrose Party leaders both come from the ranks of the current federal government, the Conservatives under Stephen Harper. Of the two, Brian Jean (the new leader of Wildrose) has shown that he is still the "clapping seal" that most Conservative backbenchers are in the House of Commons. His performance in last Thursday's debates is the regurgitated same few lines that you expect out of any Tory spokesperson these days. Jim Prentice's performance was far more erudite, but he was blasted out of the tar sands by the New Democrat Party's Rachel Notley.

Just as both the PCs and Wildrose evolved, no, scratch that, sprung forth from the Social Credit party*, so are their leaders cut from the same cloth.
